Customs regulations

Customs regulations of the Republic of Croatia are in line with the standards of the European Union. Foreign currency is allowed to bring in and out of the country, while domestic limited to 15,000 kuna. More expensive professional and technical equipment must be declared at the border. Tax refund can be realized for goods purchased in excess of 500 kuna with a validated "Tax check" when leaving the country.

Medical services

Hospitals and clinics exist in all major cities, clinics and pharmacies in every small towns. Health services in Croatia operates as follows: you have to pay a visit to the doctor or hospital stay. Some countries have a medical agreement, and for those countries the medical services is emergency charge. Check this information prior to departure.

Costs of health care services for people who come from countries with which the Convention was not signed the contract are charged at the price list.

Opening hours of shops, public services and post office

Shops are open weekdays from 8 to 20 hours, Saturdays and Sundays until 14 pm, and during the season longer. Public services and business offices work from 8 am to 16 pm from Monday to Friday.

Post offices are open weekdays from 7 am to 19 am, in small towns from 7 am to 14 pm. In larger cities post offices are open on Saturdays and Sundays too. Public telephones use phone cards. They are sold in post offices and newsstands.

Electric power (electricity) and water

Power supply is 220 V. Tap water is potable throughout Croatia.

Radio news in foreign languages

Croatian radio programs broadcast in foreign languages that are intended for tourists in Croatia. The first channel of Croatian Radio every day at 20:05 is broadcast a program in English.
